1.5 " (38mm) Brass Hose Couplings

National Fire Equipment Ltd. has received several competitor's hoses back from the field where the female hose coupling has either failed to perform or has separated from the coupling body under low test pressures.
This issue has been spotted by our hose technicians when hoses have been brought in for the 5 year NFPA hydrostatic testing.
Our hose department is attempting to identify these couplings when they arrive from the field. For safety concerns, we are refusing to test these hoses with the defective hose couplings.
We are recommending that the subject hose coupling be removed and replaced with new hose couplings and re-tested. We understand this is an additional cost incurred by the customer but feel it is necessary safety precaution. The alternative is to completely replace the hose and coupling.
We can confirm that these couplings have not been supplied by National Fire Equipment Ltd. but are a competitor's brand.
Also note that many of the hoses are labeled "National Fire Hose". This is a manufacture of fire hose in the USA (now called Snap-Tite). To our knowledge, the couplings have not been supplied by Snap-Tite.
